"Conclusions: This is the first phase I clinical trial in health adults evaluating efficacy and safety of CZ. Our results demonstrate no significant side effects and toxicity of CZ, including hepatotoxicity and anti-coagulation properties. CZ demonstrated beneficial anti-hyperlipidaemic and blood pressure lowering effects among healthy adults. Further studies with larger samples and longer durations may be able to elucidate other side effects and better describe the pharmacodynamic properties."

" In general, the drying had effect on the total phenolic and total flavonoid contents which are major contribution to the radical scavenging activity of the cinnamon. The best drying method according to this study were the oven drying and room/or freeze drying. The part of the cinnamon plant containing the highest content of the total phenolic and total flavonoids and free radical scavenging ability were the stem and roots. Positive correlation was obtained between only phenolic and antioxidant activity which was 74%. The phytochemical screened was an indication that cinnamon could be a beneficial medicinal herb and spice. Methanol as a solvent had been established to bee best for extraction of phytochemical in the cinnamon."
