Cloves are dried unopened flower buds of Syzygium aromaticum plant. 

Taprobane Exotica cloves are carefully hand picked  flower buds, just before they open. Once picked they are dried under controlled conditions and sorted to ensure our customers get the best. All our spices are sustainably produced, sourced from a few hand picked processors, and come to you through the shortest possible supply chain.
